The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Edition has a new partner, and for the first time it plays for the other side. Omega’s 2026 Bond release comes in pairs: a blue watch for 007 and a black one for SPECTRE, the organisation that spent six decades trying to kill him.

Omega announced the collection on 5 October 2026, Global James Bond Day. The date is the anniversary of the 1962 premiere of Dr. No, the first Bond film.
What makes the timing unusual is what is missing. There is no new Bond film. There is no new Bond either: the next actor has not been announced. Omega usually builds its Bond watches around a release. This time it built one around the character, and around his enemy.
There are six watches in total. Two are steel and are not limited. The other four come in two sets of 77, each pairing a numbered steel watch with a version in platinum-gold.
What’s new in the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Edition

The blue Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Edition is the one that looks most like the watch Bond has worn since GoldenEye in 1995. Blue aluminium dial, laser-engraved waves, skeleton hands, mesh bracelet. If you know the Diver 300M, you know this shape.
The changes are in the details.
- The 12 o’clock marker. The usual double baton is gone. In its place sits the Bond family coat of arms.
- The bezel. The ring is grade 5 titanium with a laser-ablated dive scale, set on a steel case.
- No date. The dial is clean. Inside is the Calibre 8806, the time-only version of Omega’s Master Chronometer movement.
- The rotor. Turn the watch over and the winding rotor, seen through the sapphire caseback, is shaped like the gun barrel from the opening of the films, with the 007 logo at its centre.

The lume has a small trick carried over from earlier Bond models. The hour markers, the hour hand and the seconds hand glow blue. The minute hand and the dot at 12 on the bezel glow green. In the dark, the two greens are the ones that matter for timing a dive, so they are the ones that match.
The SPECTRE Edition: the villain hides on the back

The black watch is quieter. And that seems to be the point.
The dial is blackened aluminium with a grained finish, no waves and no themed marker. The bezel is black ceramic. Nothing on the front says SPECTRE. To anyone across the table, it is a black Diver 300M.
The theme is on the back. The rotor carries the SPECTRE octopus, blackened, and the caseback is engraved with the name. It arrives in a black presentation box with the SPECTRE logo.

Here is a detail worth getting right. Omega has made a watch called Spectre before: a limited Seamaster 300 in 2015, named after the film of that year. This is different. The 2026 watch is themed on the organisation itself, octopus and all. Omega’s president, Raynald Aeschlimann, describes it as the first time the brand has brought James Bond and SPECTRE “together in a collection”.
There is history behind that. For decades, the rights to SPECTRE and Blofeld were tied up in a legal dispute, which is why the organisation vanished from the films after the early 1970s. The rights only came back to the Bond producers in 2013. SPECTRE returned on screen in 2015 and was wiped out in No Time To Die in 2021. So this is a villain watch for a villain that, in the films, no longer exists.
The Easter eggs, one by one
For readers who like to find things, here is everything we could confirm on the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond and SPECTRE watches.
- Bond coat of arms (James Bond Edition, dial). The arms come from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, where Bond researches his family tree. Their motto, “Orbis non sufficit”, translates as “The world is not enough”, which became the title of the 1999 film.
- Gun-barrel rotor (James Bond Edition, back). A reference to the opening sequence of nearly every Bond film.
- Green minute hand and green bezel dot (both steel watches). The blue and green lume split first used on the 60th anniversary watch.
- Octopus rotor (SPECTRE Edition, back). The SPECTRE emblem, blackened.
- Engraved dials (platinum-gold watches only). The Bond dial is engraved with a swirling gun-barrel pattern. The SPECTRE dial is engraved with tentacles.
- Strap keepers (sets only). The NATO strap in each set has keepers engraved with “007” or the SPECTRE emblem.
- The number 77. Omega has not explained it. Given its history of editions of 7,007 and 15,007 pieces, a nod to 007 is the obvious guess, but it is a guess.
What is not there is also telling. No hidden 007 has been reported on the dial, bezel or bracelet of either steel watch. Earlier Bond Seamasters were busier.
How it compares with the 60th anniversary watch
The closest predecessor is the steel Diver 300M Omega made in 2022 for 60 years of Bond. Side by side, the 2026 Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Edition keeps most of its recipe and changes the showpiece.
- Kept: the laser-engraved wave dial, the steel mesh bracelet, the blue and green lume.
- Changed: the “60” at 12 on the bezel goes back to a lume dot. The bezel ring is now titanium. The coat of arms takes over the 12 o’clock marker.
- Removed: the date window, and the animated caseback. The 60th had a disc that turned with the seconds hand to play a short gun-barrel animation. The 2026 watch swaps that for the gun-barrel rotor.
- New: a second watch, for the other side.
The gun-barrel rotor and the coat of arms are not new ideas for Omega. Both appeared on a 2015 Aqua Terra made for Spectre. What is new is putting the arms on the dial as a marker, and building a matching watch for the villain.
It is also easy to confuse this release with another 007 Omega from earlier in 2026: the 44mm Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph made for the 007 First Light video game . That one is a separate watch, with a different case and movement.
Why Omega and Bond collectors will want one
A few reasons stand out, and a couple of honest caveats.
It completes a story. Collectors of Bond Omegas tend to collect the narrative, not just the watch. A villain watch is a chapter that did not exist until now, and the pairing gives both editions a reason to sit next to each other in a watch box.
It is a cleaner Bond watch. No date, no anniversary number on the bezel, one discreet symbol on the dial. For people who found the 60th anniversary busy, this is the more restrained version.
It is a full Diver 300M underneath. Master Chronometer certified, resistant to 15,000 gauss, 300m of water resistance with a helium escape valve, and a 55-hour power reserve.
It arrives between Bonds. With the next actor still unannounced, this is a Bond watch that belongs to no single era. Whether that ages well or not will depend on what the films do next.
The caveats. The steel watches are not limited, so scarcity is not part of the appeal. Only the 77 sets of each are capped. And the case is 50mm from lug to lug, which wears large on smaller wrists. Try it on before deciding.
